“After the second examination period, the student decides whether s/he will retake exams for courses in which s/he received a tolerable or an intolerable incomplete during the first or second examination periods. The chance to retake exams is available in the third examination period for courses in which an examination chance has been organized. S/he must indicate electronically via the registration form which exams s/he want to retake in the third examination period no later than 15 calendar days after the announcement of the results of the second examination period or no later than 15 calendar days after the settlement of any appeal.” (Faculty examination regulations, art. 58; full text available there.)
- The student is obliged to resit intolerable fails
- The student decides whether a tolerable fail is maintained (see art. 56 of the general examination regulations).
- In case a student resits a tolerable fail in the same academic year, and if the mark in the third examination period is lower than the previous mark, the higher mark is maintained.
