Leuven Old Testament Study group

LXX — Old Testament — Scrolls

LOTS is a new (2011) informal study group for advanced Masters students, doctoral students, and those with a PhD, who carry out research on the field of the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible), LXX, or the Dead Sea Scrolls, or for those with a scholarly interest in those field. 

We will convene four to six times a year, for lectures, workshops, seminars, discussions of books, or of research carried out in Leuven.

The aim is to explore more broadly, but without investing too much time, areas in the field of Old Testament studies.

Next meetings

The very first LOTS meeting is on Wednesday October 26, 2011, 12:00-2:00 pm, room MTC 00.07. 

Presenter is Prof. Kristin De Troyer, from the University of St Andrews, who will give a paper “Balancing between Translation Technique and Text Critical Data: Joshua 10 as a Test-Case”. 

This is a lunch meeting, so feel free to bring along your lunch.
