Recovering a Neglected Critical Tradition: The Victorian and Modernist Critique of Newman's Religious Apologetic and its Contemporary Significance
Short Description
Geertjan’s research centres on the religious apologetic of John Henry Newman (1801-1890) in the context of Victorian religion and culture. In addition to contributing to the fields of Newman research and Victorian studies, this project combines philosophical (epistemological) and historical methodologies in order to contribute to current understandings of the possibility of a rational justification of religious belief.
