-
Any scholar or visitor requesting access to the CSVII collection is due to submit a request for consultation in writing. Such request can be made via e-mail to the following address: VaticanumII@theo.kuleuven.be. An application should stipulate the applicant’s name and surname, as well as academic qualifications (e.g. University Degree). Also to be stipulated are the visitor’s nationality, work address and the purpose of the research.
-
The director and secretary to the CSVII decide upon the request, and whether or not access to the documents is granted. In particular cases, access is limited or denied.

Scholars visiting the CSVII Archives are due to register their name and surname, the visiting date and the research topic in the Centre’s log.
-
During the consultation, silence is to be observed in the consultation room. No food or drinks are allowed in the consultation area.

All papers are to be consulted inside the CSVII consultation room, and it is prohibited to researchers to remove any material from the consultation area without a request to do so with the staff. Any document is to be handled with the utmost care. It is strictly forbidden to write on archival documents. The order of the papers must not be altered when reading them, and papers are to be replaced in the folders and boxes in the original order.

The amount of papers to be consulted is limited, and scholars can only request one archive box at a time. Upon request, researchers may be granted permission to photograph and/or photocopy documents. Scanned electronic reproductions in pdf can be requested, and will be sent, after consideration of the request. In case some documents issued to the researcher are in a poor state of preservation or presents any problem whatsoever, the researcher must inform the staff.
-
Indices to most of the sources, as well as scholarly tools, are available for use in the CSVII. -
Researchers are required to send a copy of any publication (books, articles, catalogues, …) in which documents belonging to the CSVII are used or quoted.
-
