Agenda for the 38th BETH Assembly Prague, Czech Republic 19-23 September 2009

Due to some unforeseen events, we may have to make some small last-minute changes to this proposed programme.  Nevertheless, it would be very helpful to receive all registrations for this General Assembly as soon as possible, so that the Secretary will be able to make the necessary final adjustments and to ensure there is adequate accommodation and services for all delegates who will attend the meeting.  Towards the end of August, further instructions and directions for arrival will be sent to all who register to attend.  The costs for the conference will be posted on this website as soon as the Secretary has the information needed to finalise these calculations.

Saturday, September 19

Arrival and registration during the day

18:00    Reception in Salon A, with a welcome from the Vice-Rector and an introduction to IBTS
19:00    Dinner in the College
20:30    Lecture: La ville et l’église by Hervé Dupont  

Sunday, September 20

7:30-9:00    Breakfast
10:30    Worship with the Sarka Valley Community Church who meet at the College
12:00    Lunch at the College
13:30-18:00    Business Session (with a coffee break at 15:30)
18:30    Dinner
20:00    Presentation by EBSCO

Monday, September 21

7:30-8:15    Breakfast
8:45    Depart for the National Library (tour 9:30-11:00)
11:30    Arrive at the Jewish Museum for a tour and presentation on preservation techniques (11:30-13:00)
Enjoy a sack lunch in the Old Town Square, then return to the College
14:30-15:30 Lecture by Dr. Barbora Drobikova, Librarian at the Theology Faculty of Charles University, Prague: Contributions of the Discipline of Human-computer Interaction for Libraries
15:30:    Coffee break
16:00 - 18:30     Business Session
19:00     Dinner
20:00     A time for delegates to share any digital initiatives, projects, Union catalogues, etc.

Tuesday, September 22

7:30-8:15    Breakfast
8:30    Depart for Strahov Monastery for a tour and a lecture (9:30-11:30)
11:30    Return to IBTS
12:00    Lunch at IBTS
13:30-17:00     Business Session
17:45     Depart IBTS for an evening Dinner Cruise


Wednesday, September 23

7:30-9:00    Breakfast
After breakfast pack and check-out (IBTS has a Eucharist service during this time in the main meeting room.)
